The 50 State Rescue Challenge: Mississippi Edition

At Cause for Paws, we’re on a mission:

Get a pet adopted in every state.

This week’s spotlight falls on The Magnolia State: Mississippi and The Mississippi Animal Rescue League.

The Mississippi Animal Rescue League (MSARL) is a non-profit, no-kill animal shelter located in Jackson, Mississippi. Their mission is to rescue homeless, neglected and abused animals and provide them with shelter, medical care, and find them loving permanent homes.

MSARL takes in dogs and cats from animal control facilities to save them from euthanasia. They do not euthanize animals for reasons of space or length of stay.

All animals receive necessary medical care, vaccinations, microchipping, and are spayed/neutered before being adopted out.

They also have an active foster program to provide temporary homes for animals until adopted.

Meet Biscuit, an adorable 2-year-old Terrier mix ready to bring endless joy into your life! This playful pup has a beautiful brindle coat and weighs a portable 18 lbs.

Biscuit is an energetic and friendly girl who loves going for walks and getting plenty of exercise and playtime. While she adores people, Biscuit hasn't had much experience with other dogs or cats, so she may do best as an only pet. She is house-trained and crate-trained, making her a great apartment dog.

Biscuit is smart and eager to learn, already knowing sit, stay, and shake.This sweet girl ended up at the shelter through no fault of her own when her previous owners could no longer care for her.

Despite her past, Biscuit has maintained her loving, gentle spirit. She can't wait to find her forever family to shower with affection.If you're looking for a fun-loving, devoted companion to keep you active and entertained, Biscuit could be the perfect pup for you! Ellie is a beautiful 2-year-old Mountain Cur mix weighing 45 lbs. This sweet girl has a gorgeous brindle coat and warm brown eyes that will melt your heart.

Ellie is an energetic pup who loves going for walks, runs, and getting plenty of outdoor exercise and playtime. While she can be shy at first, Ellie warms up quickly and is very affectionate once she gets to know you. She is house-trained and crate-trained, making her a great family companion. Ellie has not been around cats before, so a dog-only home may be best for her.

This gentle girl ended up at the shelter through no fault of her own. Despite any past challenges, Ellie has maintained her loving spirit and is eager to find her forever family to shower with loyalty and cuddles.

Tillie
