The 50 State Rescue Challenge: Oklahoma Edition

At Cause for Paws, we’re on a mission:

Get a pet adopted in every state.

This week’s spotlight falls on The Sooner State: Oklahoma and Tulsa SPCA.

Tulsa SPCA has been around for over a century, helping animals in Tulsa since 1913. They're all about protecting dogs and cats in the community, rescuing them from tough situations like homelessness, illness, and abuse.

What's really interesting is that they're completely independent. They're not connected to the ASPCA or any government agency, which means they rely entirely on donations from animal lovers like us to keep their doors open.

Their mission is all about creating a more humane community for both animals and people. They do this in a few ways. First, they provide shelter and care for homeless animals, which is huge. They also help these animals find forever homes through their adoption services. But they don't stop there – they're big on education too, teaching people about responsible pet ownership. And they're always advocating for animal welfare.

They're also providing important services like spaying and neutering, microchipping, and even distributing pet food to those who need it. They even investigate animal cruelty cases.

The folks at Tulsa SPCA are really passionate about what they do. They believe in the bond between humans and animals, and they're working hard to make sure every pet in Tulsa has a chance at a happy, healthy life.

🐾 Henry 🐾

Henry

Meet Henry, a 65 lb mixed breed that’s ready for a furever home!

Henry is playful, trusting and loves daily walks!

After a day of play, Henry loves to curl up and cuddle! Henry is ready to bring joy and activity to a loving home! 🐾⛰️

🐾 Cooper 🐾

Cooper

Meet Cooper, a lovable Lab mix puppy with a heart full of love and a playful spirit.

Cooper loves to play with toys and romp around with other dogs, but his favorite thing is being close to a human. He'll nuzzle your hand or climb into your lap for some affection, and he's always ready for playtime.

Very treat motivated, Cooper has been practicing his crating skills with Tulsa SPCA. If you're looking for a fun and loving companion, Cooper is your perfect match!🐾🐕

🐾 Rocket Man 🐾

Rocket Man

Rocket Man is a mixed breed, and has been in their care twice now and finds the shelter environment very stressful, making it hard for him to settle down in his kennel. He desperately needs a break and a taste of home life.

Rocket Man walks well on a leash but needs to work on crate training and not jumping. He would do best in a home without kids under the age of 12.
