Rescue Dogs from Afghanistan on a Journey to Forever Homes in Maine

A wonderful initiative is underway to transport 11 rescue dogs from Afghanistan to Maine for adoption, thanks to Cats Kabul Passion Pets Transport.

The effort aims to provide these dogs with loving forever homes and support from the community.

This week’s spotlight falls on The Heart of Dixie: Alabama and Crossing Paths Animal Rescue

Crossing Paths Animal Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Blount County, Alabama.

It was established in 2006 and is run by a devoted husband-and-wife team, David and Heather Sharit.

Their mission is to rescue abused, abandoned, and neglected dogs, primarily from high-kill shelters in Alabama, and find them loving forever homes through comprehensive adoption processes.

They have a network of volunteer foster families who provide temporary homes for the rescued dogs until they are adopted.

In 2021, they rescued over 1,000 dogs and successfully placed 808 into permanent adoptive homes.
